Fedora 9 Beta

Linux, Virtualization March 25th, 2008

Fedora 9 BetaToday the Fedora 9 Beta was released, and at first glance, not much has been improved in the installation routine since the Alpha release. I still get the “An unrecoverable processor error has been encountered. The virtual machine will reset now.” error message when trying to install it in Microsoft Virtual PC.

The installation started quite hopeful with the welcome screen.

But after continuing it stopped abruptly:

Installation crash

I will have a look at the Beta at my other workstation later, I’ll keep you posted about that!

Update: This can be fixed by adding noreplace-paravirt to the kernel arguments.
